Developments on Cellulite Treatment

Perhaps one of the more baffling cases in research nowadays understands how cellulite can be properly treated. As you may know, there are a variety of treatments out there that claim to heal or completely get rid of cellulite. However, this may not be the case for all of them.

Myths and Truths on Cellulite

Much like its treatment, some people tend to confuse fact with fiction in terms of the cellulite as a condition. Perhaps one of more common of these myths are the belief that cellulite is simply a bulge of random fat.Unfortunately, is not just that. According to British dermatologists that cellulite is also due to poor circulation in your veins.

Another obvious point about cellulite is that only fat people are susceptible to this type of condition. This of course, has no basis as even thin people have been documented to have had this condition.

Cellulite starts when bands of muscle are tight enough and there is fat between them, what results is dimple formation in these fibrous tissue. Aside from that, there is nothing else inherently special about these types of fat bunched in just underneath the skin’s surface. According to dermatologists, although both sexes can most certainly get this type of condition, women are more likely to get it due to genetic disposition or even hormonal changes within a female’s body.

Laser Breakthroughs

According to recent research back in 2008, dermatologists have been working on a promising treatment that involves a combination of fat removal and laser surgery. This type of treatment basically uses a laser that passes through the surface of the skin, stimulating collagen in the process. The stimulated collagen then tightens the skin; in the process, reducing the fatty tissue count. The closing phases of the surgery then involve injecting fat from the patient in order to fill the gaps from the elimination phase of the cellulite. According to case findings, this process has shown promise, with very little side effects.

Effective Results

According to the study, doctors treated women between 18-47 with cases of severe cellulite. These patients had no pervious histories with surgical treatments involving fat removal. In a span of three years, these women had great results; with an 85% percent success rate.

Just to specify, these cases were especially helpful for women who had severe cases. This procedure greatly reduced the cellulite at less disturbing levels. But this does not mean this is a cure per se, but it is certainly a step in the right direction.

Proper management of diet as well as proper exercise can come a long way for everyone who is experiencing this condition. Liposuction can be effective in reducing fat on such areas, but it has it complications. Until medical professionals can find a suitable non-invasive form of surgery to distill the cellulite problem, proper care must be taken into account.

Playing It Safe

If you don’t have cellulite yet then good for you! Although cellulite can still manifest in certain people, it can be avoided by living a healthy lifestyle. Low-fat diets, daily exercise will go a long way in preventing cellulite.
